That streak just got a new chapter: Ceddanne Rafaela hit the first grand slam of his major league career Monday to break open a game the Sox had no business winning. They were no-hit through five innings, then Rafaela sent one over the wall and Boston took it 4-2. That's the kind of win that validates a streak rather than fluking into it.
The injury caveat: infielder Curtis Mead, acquired last week from Washington, left his Red Sox debut with a left wrist contusion after taking a pitch in the fourth inning. Francisco Lindor going 2 HR plus a triple with six RBI in a 14-3 rout is the kind of performance that looks like noise until you check the calendar and realize Atlanta has to come back to Citi Field tonight at 7:11 PM ET. The Braves got boat-raced. That's a tell for tonight's number if the Mets are running the same lineup and Atlanta's starter is answering a blowout.
The Marlins ending a 12-game losing streak on a walk-off is a good story and a line-mover. Miami hosts Philadelphia again tonight at 6:41 PM ET. Manager Clayton McCullough apparently compared the skid to The Odyssey before Monday's game, which is either a genius motivational choice or the most Miami thing that has ever happened. Either way, the 12-game streak is dead. Fade or follow, that's a live conversation and the line will reflect it.

The Giants got a bounce-back performance from Tyler Mahle (into the seventh) and Grant McCray's first homer in nearly two years. The Brewers-Giants series continues tonight at 9:46 PM ET. The Casey Schmitt leg injury from Monday is the subplot: he left in the second inning and his status for tonight hasn't been confirmed in the material I have. That's a number-mover on a short sample if he's out.
Alex Bregman broke out of a slump with a homer and two doubles in Chicago. The Cubs (60-46) are tied with the Yankees for the best record in the information I have. The Cardinals series continues at 7:46 PM ET. Nico Hoerner had four hits in Game 1 as well. That offense is awake.
