The total opened at 7.5 with the Over juiced to -120, and it has been bought up from there. If you liked the Cubs cheap, that window closed hours ago.
Start with the side. Twelve cents on a mid-tier favorite is real money but it is not a panic move, and the prediction venues back it up: Kalshi has Chicago around 62 percent, Polymarket around 61. Breakeven on -150 is 60 percent. Translation, the crowd and the book landed on the same answer. There is no gift on the Cubs here, just a fair price that got fairer for the house. The one loose thread is Miami, which opened +110 and is showing +149 at one shop while others price the same team tighter. That is not a market speaking with one voice.
The total is where I keep staring. Opened 7.5 -120 to the Over. Now one book has Over 8.5 +110 posted while another is still hanging Under 8 at -102. That is a full run of daylight inside the same game, in the same hour. Mind the gap like it owes you money, because somebody is wrong and by first pitch we will know who.
Here is my honest caveat, and it matters: I do not have the confirmed matchup or the wind report in front of me, and in Miami those are precisely the two things that yank a total a full run before dinner.
