Read those rows together. The money got more confident Minnesota wins the game and no more confident Minnesota wins it by seven. Meanwhile the price on New York plus the points actually got cheaper, from -110 down to -105. That is a market saying blowout risk has not gone up, just win probability. When the outright drifts and the hook holds, the spread is usually the honest number in the building. That's a tell.
The prediction venues back up the outright side rather than fade it: Kalshi has Minnesota at 73 percent, Polymarket at 71, and -258 prices out right around 72. Nobody is mispricing this one badly. The only soft corner is the total, where one shop has crawled from 173.5 down to 172.5 while another still hangs an Over at -105. A full point of disagreement between books on a playoff opener is the closest thing to a live spot on this card.
checked the almanac: minnesota's four championships all landed between 2011 and 2017, and new york didn't lift its first until 2024. two franchises with real hardware, opening the bracket against each other. that is a gift of a Sunday afternoon.
Elsewhere in the wire, Atlanta locked up home court for its first-round series and the Sparks parted with their head coach after a sixth straight year outside the bracket. Neither has a posted number attached to it here, so I am not going to pretend otherwise.
What I am watching next: whether that 172.5 pulls the rest of the market down with it or snaps back to 173.5 by tip. If the Under keeps grinding lower across multiple books, that is the side the money actually likes. One shop moving alone is noise. Keep it entertainment, keep it 21+ where legal.
